Ghostwire Will Make Kids Around the World Crap Themselves
One of the nifty things about the Nintendo DSi (hand-held video game console) is that it has a built-in camera. It has two cameras, in fact; one that faces the user and one that faces away. I haven’t paid much attention to it because I already have a DS Lite and I hate it when companies make their own products obsolete after a year (not you, Apple..please keep releasing new stuff). Anyways, this is the first instance of “holy crap that’s brilliant” I’ve experienced in reading about this thing.
A company called Majesco is releasing a game called “Ghostwire: Link to the Paranormal.” The idea is that you use the away-facing camera to hunt for ghosts…in your actual surroundings! So you can be walking around your house looking at your DSi screen and HOLYCRAPTHERE’SAGHOST! Then you have to solve puzzles to help them cross over or something. Hopefully this thing is at least rated Teen. I’d hate to think of all the 7 year olds crapping their pants because they can actually see the ghost they thought was in their closet.
