We all know that beer pong is one of those games that every average dude should know. It requires skill, concentration, and an unusually large stomach. If you’re anything like us at a UCF tailgate, then you’ve probably played the game to the point that it has become mundane... More...
My brother brought this little-known fact to my attention today. Despite what he said in his speech, Barack Obama is technically the 43rd person to take the oath of the office of the President, not the 44th. Grover Cleveland served two non-consecutive terms, and is historically counted as both the 22nd and 24th Presidents, even though he was only one dude. I say this should end now. While his is the 44th Presidency as far as power transitioning from person to person, Barack Obama is the 43rd President of the United States of America. That’s man-law. Live it.
In just about three hours, Barack Obama will be sworn in as the 44th President of the United States of America. Regardless of who you voted for or what you think of this guy, two things are for sure: today’s inauguration is a historic one, and the fact that we were able to vote at all is pretty sweet. So be proud today that you’re able to sit in your home or office and watch such an event on TV. Some countries aren’t so fortunate.
Now, if only he’d open with the rally speech that Bill Pullman gives in Independence Day. (more…)
Well we promised each other that we wouldn’t fully endorse one candidate or another on this site, but one thing I will say. Get out and vote! Now is your time to express your views. We all know about this big Presidential election but there are also many important local elections. Now is your time to pick your mayor, congressman, senator, or decide on an amendment. For all the complaining you may have done over the past 4 years, now is your time to have your voice heard. I know you hear it every year, my vote doesn’t matter. Keep in mind the 2000 Presidential Election was decided by 537 votes in the state of Florida. Many polls open up on Tuesday morning at 7am and will close at 7pm for most and 8pm for some, so if you still don’t know who to vote for or what they stand for take the time today to get educated and have your voice heard.
Ok, I’m done with that. I now leave you with a video of a cat getting stuck inside a box. Enjoy, I did.
The guys over at cracked.com do a great job at making these humorous top 5 lists. I was passed along this one by a friend today, The Top 5 Most Badass Presidents. I was quite taken back by President Jackson and his take no shit from anyone approach. The dude was nicknamed “Old Hickory”, because he would carry around an old cane that he would use to beat people with. Extreme? Yes. True? Why would you lie about something like that. Don’t believe me, check this story out…
“Andrew Jackson was the first president on whom an assassination attempt was made. A man named Richard Lawrence approached Jackson with two pistols both of which, for some reason, misfired. With the possibility of an assassination taken off the table, Jackson proceeded to beat Lawrence near death with his cane until Jackson’s aides pulled him off the assassin.”
Two small towns in Vermont have voted to approve a measure that would “instruct police to arrest President George W. Bush and Vice President Dick Cheney for crimes against our Constitution.”
I would absolutely love to meet the cop that has the balls to handcuff the President. That’s like something out of a Naked Gun movie.
The 2008 Election is just around the corner. The Iowa Caucus is tonight and it will kick off the presidential primary season. Do you know who you are voting for? Barack, Hilary, Edwards, Huckabee, or Rudy? (more…)
Will Smith revealed in an interview that he’d like to become President of the United States. That’s really the extent of this story and I’m not sure what else to say about it. I think I’d vote for him. If he ran with Bill Pullman as his running mate, they’d sweep the election as far as I’m concerned.
So after writing about Mary Carey who ran for Governor of California and now this, it got me thinking, who’s next? Does Stephen Colbert really stand a chance? Would Kevin Costner make a good Senator? Who do you think will be the next crazy ambitious celebrity to take on politics? Comment…ready? Go.
