Apple Says “Why Not?” Thumbs-Up “Asian Boobs”

Wednesday, October 28th, 2009

People who are seriously into Apple or their iPhone have kept tabs on the ongoing saga regarding the App Store approval process. Basically there is no rhyme or reason to it as Apple will reject an eCard app because it “contains objectionable content and content that ridicules public figures” but then they’ll go ahead and say “HELL YEAH” to “Asian Boobs.” (more…)

Natural Selection: A Card Counting iPhone App

Monday, February 16th, 2009

No, the name of the app is not “Natural Selection,” but it would probably be appropriate. While counting cards in Vegas is not necessarily illegal, it’s certainly frowned upon. Using a device to do so, however, is a felony and will probably get you roughed up by a 350 pound bouncer named Tiny. That’s why anyone who is stupid enough to try to use an iPhone application to count cards at a Vegas casino is simply allowing mother nature to cleanse herself of weaker-minded creatures.

The North Face ETip Gloves

Tuesday, January 20th, 2009

Let’s face it, it’s damn cold outside. Even here in Orlando, the low tonight will be right around 30 degrees. As a lover of cold weather, sometimes I like to venture out into the frigid air all bundled up. As an iPhone user, however, gloves can be pretty annoying, forcing me to make a choice: freeze my fingers but be able to quickly use my phone, or wear gloves and have to constantly remove them to type an email or answer a call.

These North Face ETip gloves don’t require such a decision. The tips of the thumbs and index fingers are covered in their special “X-Static” material which makes them touchscreen friendly. Plus, they’re North Face, so you know they’re good. $40 and they’re yours.

According to ofb.biz, AT&T has been quietly downgrading their EDGE (2G) service in order to speed up the roll out of its 3G network. Who does this affect? Anyone that doesn’t have a 3G phone: the original iPhone, Motorola RAZR, some Blackberry models, etc. Read on for more info. (more…)

Megan Fox is a Faux-Geek

Wednesday, July 23rd, 2008

These photos of Megan Fox popped up on Buzzfeed a while ago. It shows her holding an iPhone while wearing a toddler-sized Star Wars shirt. Of course, this caused the entire male nerd demographic on earth to freak out.

On one hand, it presents an image of one of the hottest chicks in Hollywood that would cause most nerdy dudes to explode. On the other hand, I’m not sure how realistic it is to think that this chick is truly a geek. I mean, the iPhone is a hot product, and it seems to be trendy to wear geeky shirts without really knowing what it is you’re wearing. Regardless, dudes will swoon and dream of taking her to a midnight showing of Return of the Jedi followed by a rousing game of hide the lightsaber….so swoon away. iPhone Apps Rule!

Tuesday, July 22nd, 2008

I’m writing this post on the newly released iPhone wordpress application. Other than the annoying clicks of the iPhone keyboard, this is awesome. Consider this the Average Dudes’ seal of approval.

Review – Apple iPod Shuffle

Friday, December 21st, 2007

iPod Shuffle 1I am a huge fan of Apple products. With each new product release, I have to try to justify why I need it so that I don’t feel guilty when I cave in and buy it. With the release of the redesigned iPod shuffle, I found myself in quite a predicament. I loved the new design, but I already had four iPods (yes, 4) so how could i possibly justify getting a fifth? iPhone Headphones May Suck, But They Can Take A Beating

Friday, December 14th, 2007

A lot of people complain about Apple’s standard iPod and iPhone headphones, saying they have lousy audio quality and are uncomfortable. Personally, I’ve never found any problems with them and my most recent experience has only increased my respect for them. Check it out.
