Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show 2009 - We Didn’t Miss It!

Friday, November 27th, 2009

We’ve been in operation for over 2 years now…that makes this the third December that Average Dudes has seen. Somehow for the first two Decembers, we missed the Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show, arguably the most important television event of the year for any self-respecting chick-lover. Apparently the third time’s the charm…because we didn’t miss it!

Set your DVR’s for this Tuesday, December 1st at 10pm on CBS. And if your lady gets mad, just tell her you’re looking for gift ideas for her. It probably won’t work, but it’ll make you feel better about yourself…

Not Like We Needed to Tell You: Yankees Win the World Series

Thursday, November 5th, 2009

Baseball is yet again finished. The Yankees beat the Phillies in Game 6 of the World Series last night 7 to 3. But you already knew that, didn’t you? If you care, you probably either watched the game or read all the post-game analysis on ESPN, right? And if you don’t care, you stopped reading this post once you saw the headline. Ok then, have a good day.

Happy Valentine’s Day…Suckers

Saturday, February 14th, 2009

Consider this a pat on the back to all the dudes out there who will be spending the day/night trying to make some chick happy. We hope it’s worth it. If you’re stuck for ideas, our V-Day post last year was fairly helpful. Good luck out there.

Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Issue 2009

Saturday, February 14th, 2009

Yep, it’s that time of year again. Granted, I missed the launch by a few days, but that probably means you did too. Sports Illustrated released their annual bikini…I mean swimsuit issue a few days ago. This one has Bar Refaeli on the cover. I’ve skimmed through some of the models and honestly, it’s slim pickings. Some of these chicks have man-faces. But anyways, there’s an NBA dancer section, Danica Patrick, and of course, the body paint. Click through for some of the highlights. (more…)

Miss Atom 2009: Russia’s Hottest Ladies…Like, Nuclear Hot

Thursday, February 12th, 2009

Miss Atom 2009 is Russia’s annual beauty pageant. It’s open to all female employees of Russia’s nuclear energy industry. If Christopher Guest has a Russian equivalent, I certainly hope there’s a satirical film about this already. Hit the jump for a few more pictures of some of the contestants and a link to the official page. (more…)

Happy New Year

Thursday, January 1st, 2009

2008 is in the books and we’re officially into 2009. Rather than take a look back at 2008, I like to look back 10 years to see what was happening. Here’s a small list of events that took place in 1999.

  • The Denver Broncos won their second Super Bowl in a row.
  • Napster debuted in June.
  • Apple released the first iBook in June and the Power Mac G4 in August.
  • The Sega Dreamcast was launched in September (which isn’t mentioned on Wikipedia..jerks).
  • The world’s population reached 6 billion in October, according to the UN.

So there you go. This could be a prediction of what will happen in 2009. The Giants win their second Super Bowl in a row, we get a new way to steal music from people, Apple will release the Mac Super Pro Deluxe, Sega will release another system and then not support it, and the world will become even more over-populated than it already is. Party!
