Review - Buzz Shot Makes Your Beer Pong Awesom-er
We all know that beer pong is one of those games that every average dude should know. It requires skill, concentration, and an unusually large stomach. If you’re anything like us at a UCF tailgate, then you’ve probably played the game to the point that it has become mundane…a lot like your relationship with your girlfriend (it’s ok, it’s just us dudes here). Enter Buzz Shot, a simple yet effective way to spice up your beer pong-ing-ing….ing.
Buzz Shot is one of those “why didn’t I think of this” games. It’s simply a deck of cards that you shuffle and place face down on the game table. Before each throw, the player has to draw a card and follow the instructions that are given. The cards contain a variety of instructions such as “Player must take 2 steps back from the table,” or “Player must perform a ‘bounce’ shot with their ‘non-natural’ hand.” It’s an easy and non-obtrusive way to make your beer pong games a lot more interesting.
The thing that impressed us the most about this product is how sleek it is. This probably sounds lame, but the illustrations are fun and help instruct the player on what to do. This could have easily been a crappy, cheap novelty thing but it’s actually a very well-made product.
Our only complaint, and it’s a minor one, is that we would have liked a little more variety. There are multiple copies of each card so there’s plenty of room for some more wacky instructions. For example, there are 4 “Arc Shot” cards which basically means you throw the ball without bouncing it on the table. That’s typically how people throw anyways so having 4 of those cards doesn’t make a whole lot of sense. Granted, there are people who prefer the bounce so it does affect them. The nice thing is, there are two “House Cards” that leave space for you to write in your own rules so you can be as ridiculous as you want.
We definitely recommend Buzz Shot to anyone who regularly plays beer pong. It’s only $9.95 for a deck. If you really can’t afford it, get some buddies to pitch in. It’s worth every penny.
