Win Some Awesome DVDs…Just Leave a Comment!
We’re learning the hard way (that’s what she said) how to host a contest. With a failed attempt at a photo contest under our belt, we decided we really wanted someone to get these DVDs. Since it’s the Holiday season, we’re feeling extra generous. That’s why, for this particular contest, all you have to do is leave a comment with a valid email address and you’ll be entered to win TWO (2) DVDs. Interested? Read on for the full details.
The DVDs in question are the same ones that were up for the photo contest: History’s Life After People and Ice Road Truckers: On and Off the Ice. Just in case there was any question, yes, these are new copies in shrink-wrap. We’re not just using this site as our own personal eBay….although that’s a pretty good idea.
All you have to do to enter is leave a comment below saying why you want these DVDs. It doesn’t have to be amazing, just leaving a comment enters you into a random drawing. Also, make sure you leave a valid e-mail address in the “Mail” field so that we can contact you. If it’s bogus, we’ll pick someone else. We’re going to use random.org’s integer generator (Drew from BenSpark.com was the inspiration for this) to randomly pick THREE (3) winners.
The first two winners will each get a copy of BOTH DVDs. That means TWO (2) DVDs per grand prize winner. The third winner will get a Shipyard Brewery t-shirt AND hat (yes, we’re still peddling that stuff). T-shirt sizes are small, large, and XL..sorry in-betweens.
So that’s it. This contest will run through the weekend and the winners will be announced on Monday, December 8th. So get commenting…and tell your friends!

Well… I’ll be the first nerd to raise his hand for History Channel DVDs. Ice Road Truckers is a great show, but I hate having to sit through all the History Chan. commercials. Also, since I’m rocking the super low-tech entertainment system, I’ll take all the DVDs I can get.
The government is taking away my free TV in a few short weeks. They’re all over the airwaves trying to fool people into buying a “spy box” that will supposedly convert the new signal so your old TV can pick it up. Sure is a HUGE box just to convert a signal… something else is going on here. I’m inviting Big Brother into my home by putting one of those things in my living room.

i like to win stuff, so i thought i would do this. also, i am pretty sure my boyfriend would be psyched if i had either of those dvds. especially the life after people one. maybe if i won, i could regift those to him for christmas.
